Unsaturated polyester fracture toughness mechanism with blending to vinyl ester and MMA

In this research, a method was used to increase the brittleness of unsaturated polyester polymer by mixing it with vinyl ester. The choice ester toughness is because easy form and material has wide applications in engineering. However, several weaknesses, namely, very stiff, brittle, unable withstand cracking loads breaks easily due impact. Polyester rigid nature cross-chain links that are tightly locked interconnected each other. With addition ester, connected chain disrupted chain, thereby increasing polyester. Steps were taken crack resistance polyesters esters, starting percentages 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% comparing them pure results obtained showed increased wt show highest fracture value indicated stress intensity factor K1c=1.752 MPa.m0.5.
